Harlaxton College offers trips to a number of historic and picturesque British sites as well as to Ireland, Paris and Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice). So why take a trip with the college? Well, one of the major reason students book their trips with the college is because everything is hassle free: everything is arranged and taken care of for you.
Many of the places we visit are places you learn about in British Studies: you actually see and touch and feel what you are reading about. Every lane in Britain is rich in history, and we visit ancient sites such as Stonehenge, medieval university and cathedral towns like Oxford and Cambridge and York, and of course the vibrant streets of London.
A Harlaxton member of staff accompanies each trip to ensure that everything runs smoothly and to help you with any problems. A college trip also lets you travel with fellow students, allowing you to make new friends and build life-long relationships.
To help you get the most out of your trip with us, and to enable you to be better informed about the places you are going, we offer pre-trip briefing sessions. During these orientations we tell you about the place(s) you are going and provide you with information on attractions and things to do. Where appropriate we will tell you how best to use the local transport as well as provide you with a map. On trips which go to Europe, we provide you with useful words, phrases and idioms that will help you communicate with local people.
Faculty and Families may wish to travel on College Sponsored Trips or travel around Europe independently while you are living at Harlaxton College. The Travel Guidelines (Faculty) page provides a number of useful points to help you with travel while living in the UK.
The following pages include details of the our regular semester's trip calendars, including trip costs and itineraries.
